Dr. Ashley Schiffmacher DMV

Dr. Schiffmacher is originally from Riverview, FL. She first attended Florida Southern College and went on to St. George’s in Grenada to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. While at St. George’s, she started the wellness group for mental health. Dr. Schiffmacher is fear free certified and works with exotic pets. She started as a kennel technician and had a mentor for 20 years to finally become a veterinarian. The reason she loves working with animals is due to the fact that animals can’t tell us what is wrong and she feels as though it’s a mystery game to find out what is wrong and find a cure. When Dr. Schiffmacher is not working in the veterinary field, she’s working on her 15-acre farm housing 5 pigs, 2 horses, 3 dogs, and about 35 cows. Her favorite candy is anything sour. She loves cold weather and goes to GA at least once a year to be in the mountains and see her grandma and aunt.

Amanda

Amanda CVT/Practice Manager, CCRP

Amanda is originally from Lakeland, FL but grew up in Napa, CA before moving back to Lakeland. She wants to help create a new path for veterinary medicine. Regarding veterinary medicine, Amanda has done it all; client service representative, boarding/kennel assistant, general practice technician, emergency/critical care/ICU nurse, surgery technician, and canine physical rehabilitation technician. Amanda is also Human Animal Bond Certified. Her goals are to continue to grow as an individual, a team member, and a leader and obtain her CVPM. Her love for animals shows in her 5 dogs, Getrude, Dixie, Hank, Porkchop, and Willow, and her 2 horses, Woody and Scout. Outside of the practice, Amanda enjoys volunteering with rescues, horseback riding, going to the beach, and scalloping.

From working at AVC, she has learned what true compassion is and loves seeing the compassion and care the team has for its patients.
